Roasted Chickpeas Recipe

If you have a tin of chickpeas in your cupboard, grab them and try something new! You've seen the roasted chickpea bag at the supermarket, it's time to make your own batch better than what you've bought before! Roasted & seasoned chickpeas make the perfect healthy protein rich snack, and they're great for entertaining.

Serves: 2

Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients:

1 tin organic chickpeas
1 tbsp organic extra virgin olive oil

Seasoning:

1 tsp organic smoked paprika
1/2 tsp natural salt
OR
1/2 tsp organic turmeric powder
1/2 tsp organic cumin powder
1/2 tsp organic coriander powder
1.2 tsp natural salt

 

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C.
  2. Drain and rinse the chickpeas and dry very well. (If some skins come off simply remove them)
  3. Stir the chickpeas with oil and spices in a bowl, and spread out onto a lined baking tray.
  4. Roast in the oven for 30 minutes, tossing every 10 minutes to cook evenly.
  5. Allow to cool before serving.
