I have tried many different exercise routines over the past several years, from hot yoga, to rigorous circuit workouts.
But, because of the inability to breathe in a hot room and the severe impact on my knees, I quit.
The older I got, the less mobile I became. Gravity started to take its toll, and my muscles weakened as my work kept me sitting all day.
At the birth of my 2nd grandson, I found myself at 55-years old, questioning my ability to play with him as his grandparent. I cringed at the vision of walking around with a cane or wheeled around in a chair.
I was overall in good health, but my weakened muscles limited my ability to do certain things, like go for a hike, ride a bike, or play with my grandsons.
Due to past failures at exercise routines, I was a little hesitant to try again. But, I did some research on Pilates and found out about the Pilates Reformer. I watched YouTube videos, read numerous articles, and stalked Facebook posts about Club Pilates. I was intrigued by the idea that after 10 classes, I would move better. After 20 classes, I would feel better, and after 30 classes, I would start to look better. So, on May 8, 2021, I took the leap and registered for the introductory class.
And I'm still going!
I am beginning to see (and so does my husband -BONUS!) the definition in my muscles throughout my whole body.
The muscles around my knee feel so much better that I raced my husband up and downstairs with no pain and balanced on logs at the beach with no issue.
My husband was so surprised that he joined Club Pilates too!!
Do you know how great it feels to move without any pain after many, many years of being in pain? For the first time in nearly a decade, I feel healthy and FIT! I am excited to see what more classes and consistency brings.
